Our Great Commission Mission!!!

Hey Team,

Reading our devotions this morning and this scripture resonated in my heart...it's Luke 24:4-6, where Jesus says, Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

God reminds us that we go with His authority and power. That He would be our help and shield. That we go not on our own strength but with the power of the Holy Spirit. That even in these uncertain economic times with so many of our businesses needing our full attention...the Lord is saying to trust in Him. That I am bigger than your company...than the economy.

It's amazing how much Jesus does to encourage us to walk in His truth. As with the resurrection, Jesus sent angels to remind them that He is risen! He met them on the road to Emmaus to share that He is risen!! He even showed himself to them and ate with them to convince them that He is risen!!! How slow of heart I am to believe. How I pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to open our minds and hearts to His truth.

That the greatest thing we can surrender our lives to is His Great Commission!!! That we would take this message of His grace and love to ALL the nations!

That as we walk in this to the nations...that somehow we will realize how BIG our God is...how sovereign..how loving. We recognize how small we are and that life is really not about us. That our contentment in plenty and in want...comes as we can walk in obedience to Him. That His ways are higher than our ways.

Almighty Father, we pray that you will open our minds and hearts. That we would not be slow to believe. For this trip and our church, give us a heart for the nations!!! That we would not disqualify our mission because it seems bigger than what we are capable of...that we would not walk by our strength. That like the Apostle Paul, that we would walk in the power of the Holy Spirit so that many would know of your love. Holy Spirit we wait on you...we cry out to you...we need more of you. Strengthen us, encourage us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
