Reading for Friday, February 26

Numbers 19,20; Psalm 28; Mark 5

Mark 5:2,7-8,12 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him… He shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?... Jesus said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"… The demons begged Jesus, "Send us among the pigs…” In all four Gospels, God “sends” Jesus into a lost world. Check this out--the Greek word to “send out” means to “thrust violently.” It’s the same word He uses to expel demons! (“Oh snap!” as you young ones say.) The missionary Paul is a perfect example of one who is “thrust violently” into the world. Paul models for us how to follow up on old friends, how to develop future leaders, how to communicate a focused message, how to start, keep and maintain communities of Christians, how to live in and through persecution, and how to depend on and obey God. As you are probably sitting at the gate awaiting your flight, your home team is madly praying for you right now. Yes, the Father has chosen to violently expel you to India! Like Paul, will you follow up on our old friends? Will you be Jesus’ voice to the lost? Will you show India His hands? Will you be the Father’s heart? Will you be that which reconciles the world to Himself?

Heavenly Father, thank you for the full power of the Holy Spirit as it blankets this team. Wash away all pride, ego, distraction, and every limitation set up to hinder your full purpose in them. They depend on You, they obey you, and they are reconciled to you. Send them in Jesus’ Name!

We love you all. Kiha and Heidi
(Uncle Kiha to you who said snap!)
