Numbers 32,33; Mark 10

But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave (behind) his father and his mother and be joined to his wife and cleave closely to her permanently, and the two shall become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has united (joined together) let no man separate. --Mark 10:6-9

This scripture comes on the wedding day of Diler and Laxmi. How awesome our God is that He would highlight these instructions on this day! The word of God says, “A man shall leave his father and mother to cleave himself to and become one flesh with his wife permanently. God instructs man to give up, and depart from, his family and family interferences. He and his wife are to be a new social unit, having common characteristics, and agreeing to live as one physical body. I am so grateful to see how clear God's instruction for marriage is; he gives us Jesus Christ as our example. Jesus gave up His rights twice for His bride: first, as the God of Heaven, to be born as a man and to suffer as a man. Second, to be the sacrificial lamb, tortured and condemned by his own.

What kind of bride have I been??? When I was married I did not have the word in my life nor did my husbands. I am like the women at the well who, after an encounter with Jesus and His comforting words, was set free. As His bride, my challenge is to give up my ways and to trust and believe in Him and His ways. Since husbands are to lead their families, God gave men ability to do so through the Holy Spirit. As our God-Head Jesus is the creator of life, so shall a husband (through the Holy Spirit) be the creator of a loving and devoted wife and family. A long and fulfilling marriage is God's pleasure and is a blessing to Him. Diler and Laxmi, know that your marriage is in God's plan. He knew of this day before you were born and created you for one another.

Heavenly Father, thank you for this day. May your name be lifted and glorified. I pray for your highest blessings, grace, health, and protection over Diler and Laxmi's marriage. May the power of the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen Diler to love, lead and protect Laxmi. May Laxmi's heart be gentle and kind, always with deep reverence, honoring Diler as her husband. Thank you for your path of righteousness which continues to dwell in the hearts and minds of our family in India and to guide them in your ways. Father, shower this wedding day with your presence and provision, and may this day be a beautiful and permanent celebration long remembered by family and friends. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Much love,
