A Testimony about Guddu

Dear Friends, Thank you for all your love and investment into the lives of these boys. You know when we plant a seed and provide a conducive atmosphere, we can expect that seed to grow and bear fruit. Our God is like that, He looks for fruit in our lives.

Guddu with Bishan
I am so thrilled to see what God is doing in Guddu's life--a boy who once had no hope for his life, no beauty or hope. John 10:10 says, "The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life."(NLT). This scripture is so true in Guddu's life. Recently, he went to Delhi, as he wanted to become a computer hardware specialist. He had many impossible obstacles: apart from his physical limitations, he had no formal education. So everywhere he went for training, he was required to produce certificates which he did not have, apart from the physical handicap certificate. All the doors seemed closed to him.

Then the Lord started working for him. Many came forward to help him, seeing his spirit thrive. It is so good to work in partnership! Kevin, a member of Stan and Lana's church in Delhi, offered his house for Guddu and helped him to find the right place. Where before Guddu was shown the back door in every institution, another believer from the same church, Pradeep Halder, who has got a computer institution, found him and offered to train him personally. Now there is no doubt that Guddu will achieve his dream to become a hardware engineer. In fact, Pradeep Halder was so impressed with Guddu's hardworking spirit and faithfulness in little things that he wants to offer Guddu a managerial post in his business, as he has a business of making aquariums in the same building. Pradeep will be paying Guddu a salary for his livelihood.

Kevin (with whom Guddu is staying) also has a business of property management, so he helped Guddu to find a fully furnished rented house for just Rs. 5,000 per month, which is incredibly cheap in a place like Delhi. I am still in the process of getting the full story of how this happened.

As I write this new entry in the blog, I can only say that our God is a God of impossibilities. He makes the way where there is no way. He still parts the seas for us. Recently, a brother by the name of Clarence Johnson, who had visited the Bible School for their ten year anniversary, bought Guddu a scooter to get around. This called to mind for us so many in the past who have come forward to help him. We will never forget the famous cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, giving him a tricycle, and all the special gifts given him by many others.

Thank you so very much for your partnership in the task that the Lord has given us to do. Surely we cannot do what we do here without your help. And so we share this so that you can celebrate with us!
