 Hello from Hawaii!

My name is Monic and I am a member of the New Hope Diamond Head India Mission team.  This will be my first time to India.  I am curious and excited to see what God has in store for us.  Can't wait to meet everyone!

I will continue to keep India in my prayers.

My scripture rudder:
"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy -- meditate on these things."  Philippians 4:8

Greetings from Thailand!

With both sides of the family getting excited about coming together in August, I am deeply grateful to God for all of you, especially to Pastor Fernando and to Pastor Creighton and to the NHDH church.

I am in Thailand right now for the Haggai Seminar.  Their Headquarters are in Maui.  I am having a great time here, among 47 participants from 24 countries. This is a taste of heaven on earth, where I have met so many leaders from different countries, cultures and language groups. This is a once in a lifetime experience for me. This seminar began on 2 June, and I will be heading home on 29 June.

While I am here in Thailand, Bruce is in Mussoorie. I was able to spend only a few days with him before heading for Delhi.  He came with Joe and his family, with a team from the States in May.  Bruce and I will meet in the Bangkok Airport for a couple of hours on 29 June, before I return to India.

I need to share something that is very heavy on my heart.  Last week due to heavy rains and cloud bursts,  hundreds of people died and thousands are still stranded in the hills of Uttarakhand.  It is feared that about 20,000 people have gone missing.  The government has named this disaster Himalayan Tsunami, you can Google Uttarakhand News to learn more about this.  This is just an early monsoon and so much disaster has already happened.  Last year many people also died, and if you remember, the churches of Mussoorie came together to distribute blankets to the people who were affected by last year's disaster. This flooding is a national disaster.  By His grace no damage has happened to our homes in Mussoorie, but there were landslides in our neighborhood causing much damage.

Various photos from the web showing the devastation caused by the "Himalayan Tsunami"

Well, sitting in Thailand as I write this, there is confidence that God has brought me to this place to renew and rejuvenate me, but I am horrified to hear the damage that has happened in our State. I am committed to doing His will in my generation and to live for His glory.

Regards,
Ashish

Mussoorie Safe from the Torrent

Mussoorie and team are all safe and secure by the grace of God. We thank God for keeping us all safe in Mussoorie, though some parts of the Mountains have been damaged due to the rains. The disaster which happened is about 300 km from Mussoorie.

There are no roads and bridges to reach the people stranded there, only Helicopters are put in service to rescue the people. Some roads have been cleared. There are about 300 roads and 900 bridges washed away. It will take at least 3 years to restore the roads and bridges as reported by the government.

There are thousands of people still stranded and needing to be rescued. Many people were washed away and buried alive in the debris of buildings and mountains. There are thousands of people still missing. Bodies are being washed away as far as Haridwar, which is 350 km from the disaster area. Many are homeless, and lots of children are orphaned. Our hearts go out to them as we stand with them in prayer and seek God's help to bring restoration to our people.
We are all excited to see you all in August,  love to see our family again soon. we are praying for your safe journey and a blessed time of fellowship and encouragement . we pray that the weather will be pleasant.
looking forward to see you all.
